Hi can someone explain PME for me please, is every house suppose to have it, I worked on building sites and just recently started doing domestic, Iv done few jobs but was told some earthing needs upgrading so obv assumed 10mm for gas and water but was told to look for a pme block????
 
is ther any reason why you couldnt install a rod at the extremity of the submain, and bond everything to that, including the CPC of the submain? this would then bring everything to the same potential, and negate the need for a new bonding conductor back to the origin?

No, the CPC would then become a bonding conductor.
