Thats another good issue....crime not being reported, because of the lack of trust with Police to solve.

I see in the last 5 years police have not recorded 19% of crimes which is 18000 cases each year, 37 rapes were not recorded at all, and 220 rapes were originally recorded then removed after investigations found not enough evidence, the criminals got away with it, violent crimes were only recorded 37% of the time, this makes the latest figures regarding police successes a bag of poo, comments?

I think the number offences not recorded is probably multiples of that number.
You just have to look at Jimmy Savile case to understand that. Many/most of the offences were not recorded simply because they were not reported. So they couldn't possibly show up as being not recorded.

The current hoo-ha is about reported crimes by the public but not recorded. Even that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. How can you possibly put a figure on what wasn't recorded if it wasn't recorded?

Anyway, this from The Guardian:

The police are failing to record more than 800,000 offences, including a quarter of all sexual crimes, reported to them by the public each year, according to a damning official inquiry.

Generally speaking I trust the police, at least the ones I come into contact with. My brother was a cop for nigh on 30 years (pensioned out on health grounds) and the pub we drink in is awash with them and they're pretty much all bloody good lads.
I think where they fall down isn't with the rank and file cop, it's with the senior ones. In any walk of life, if you climb the ladder high enough then there's a desk waiting for you. Once you start driving that you forget what it's like at the pointy end of the job.

Trev you have hit the nail on the head...not the foot job, but the seniors....never made it that far in my other career. but does leave a sour taste

A few years back we had severe problems with a neighbour, I wanted to resolve things one way, Mrs Trev wanted it done in a law abiding way (which was a bloody long haul but that's another story) We were given a 3 points of contact at our local nick and I can't praise them enough for they way they acted.

The police have been allowed to get away with doing very little for too long - certain people take great pleasure in puffing out their chest and announcing "the police do a good job with limited resources", "well I hope you never need their services", and "I respect the police because I'm a law-abiding citizen", the implication being anyone who doesn't respect the police must be a criminal, and therefore further proof the police are doing an excellent job.

The reality is the taxpayers who have lost faith in the police take their opinion from an experience as a victim of crime, when they have been let down by the police, while the 'law-abiding citizens' have respect as a default from never having any interaction with them.

Take the example of this eight year old girl; she was probably coached into writing the letter but even so could be forgiven for having lost faith and trust in the police, despite having neither committed a crime nor even been reprimanded by a policeman.
Remembering your school days, the teacher you consider the worst is probably the one who didn't teach you anything, or who never bothered to learn your name, and not the teacher who gave you a detention for not doing your homework.

Thats because all stations have been closed....Runnymede is now run from Camberley...!!

In Boscombe (the most crime ridden part of Bournemouth) they shut the police station and built a tardis in the shopping precinct:

Interestingly not far from this a man burst into a letting agent's office and started terrorising the staff, but the police weren't interested:

Hmmmmm.......I wonder who I should blame for the fact that nationally there are 18,000 less front line police officers in 2014 than there were in 2010

here we go again.

If and I say IF there was complete transparancy about how much of our taxes went to pay Public Sector pensions the masses would be truely horrified.

There is no magic wand when it comes to collecting taxes, as most of the big payers are now offshore, OR elsewhere in the EU - and in both of these cases we can't touch it.

The pen pushers at the top are told to keep crime figures down....the poor plods keep doing their job and criminal get off...the CPS dissmiss the cases, the government are happy with the figures and make cut backs every year....
