Pond pump is still tripping RCD which means I loose all power to socket outlets upstairs downstairs and kitchen (with freezer in it).Why doesnt mcb trip instead and what could be causing RCD to trip.Any advice would really be appreciated.

is that all you did changed the fuse bs1362?
doesnt make sense why the rcd would trip you say everything goes upstairs/downstairs socket is this all on one rcd? could be accumlative leakage?

Last time I saw something like this the pump would pump for a few minutes and then trip the RCD. Turned out the pump was faulty and it was about 5 years old. New pump fitted and problem resolved.

or a possible poor connection on the fuse/fuse carrier, causing a bit of arcing. only time will tell if that has solved the problem.
