Hi, can anybody help me with this.
On a mobile cattering unit, the supply is provided by a 5kva portable generator.
where do i get an earth connection from without using an earth spike which is not
practical in this situation.
when powered up the sockets etc have no earth connection
Thanks in advance

so bacicaly the chasis of the genny is earth, as the source of the supply is the genny...

sometimes do they use the nuetril as a earth and bond it alltogether? so that it has a good return to the neut winding on the gen to blow a fuse in a live/earth fault on class 1 equip??

presume there is a RCD installed as well...

Yes there is a RCD installed in the catering unit.
That trips out but still concerned that no earth connection on the martindale
Thanks
