Done a fuse board change on a propery, hasnt been touch since early 60s at a guess.

There is 2 ring mains, which i had split over the the 2 rcds. Each time i swithched on one, the other RCD tripped out, and vise versa.

Have no end to end on one ring main, and end to end on Line & Earth but not the neutral on the other ring.

To get it going for the weekend i put both rings on one RCD, but still tripped out.

Does this sound like a borrowed neutral problem, or a inter crossed ring main?

Test first, some never learn. How can you replace a CU when you have no idea of circuit configuration, never assume because you see a pair on a device it is a ring final.

Well well well we're feeling the Christmas spirit in here today. Surely given the OPs responses the only reply he should be getting is 'come back when you have a set of test results'?
Well HT, forgive me if I am misconstruing your comment about Xmas spirit, but it looks to me like this guy is masquerading as a competent person, charging his customer likewise, when really he is a bit clueless? Like Murdoch has said, how is the poor old customer doing out of all this? Just saying...

No , before I tell you , do you know what an interconnection means between two circuits.?
Not quite sure I am getting the drift here SSE. I do, yes, maybe the OP not so much, given the fairly obvious problem he has got, as Murdoch is alluding to. It ain't rocket science, for an electrical contractor?

No worries Sparks, only trying to be helpful, and try and pass on my wealth of experience to others here. I do enjoy it.!
I know, and it is appreciated, and if you would enjoy it, please feel free to do it anyway. Maybe it would pass the long hours, while we wait for the test results to come though?

Break it up you two.

Sixties house possibly only one ring final anyway.
??? we are just having a bit if a titter? Well I was. I was, honest. I know Dave knows what interconnected things are, and I know he knows that I know what they are as well. That's it, really. Happy days. Bet that poor sod wishes he never had his fusebox replaced anyway......Oooerr I seem to have quoted the wrong bit now, apologies.
