Evening all
went to a property today that had tripping RCD
found 2 32a rcd protected MCB's
with two cables in each
tested and found to be no continuity
on further investigation (3 hours) found the whole flat to be damp and low IR's everywhere
also chocky in the sockets where 3 2.5mm cables would not fit into socket
crimped cables that fell off when socket removed.
t and e going into the garden (which bizarrely was fine but left disconnected anyhow)
and 1 without an earth
the best was 5 x 2.5mm connected into 1 socket outlet.
we disconnected a total of 5 cables throughout the install and only lost 2 sockets
firstly this has me baffled but more importantly how do I impress to the landlord that this property which is also showing signs of water ingress at both left and right sides(semi basement property) is dangerous and actually needs something serious done
feel like I should issue him with a notice but am stumped to know how to approach it
