Hello fellow Sparkitricians!

After a few years in the offshore industry, industrial contracting and shopfitting etc. I'm sick of being away from home and working for imbeciles (sometimes). I've decided to have a bash at working for myself.

Anyway I'm a bit unsure with regards to pricing as obviously I don't want to price myself out of jobs but I also don't want to sell myself short?
Do you charge by the job or by the hour?

Thanks in advance

Perret.

both. cost materials, estimate time to do the job, multiply hours by your hourly rate, allowing for overheads. most sparks charge between £20-£30/hour. for rewires you can price per point, usually £40-£50 per point for "standard" fittings.
