having a debate onsite....changing some tubes in a 600x600 recessed fitting with a prismatic diffuser. I put the diffuser back in with the dimpled side up ( inside the fitting) and the smooth side down.
Been told this wrong and that the smooth side should be inside the fitting because it easier to clean the dust off next time lamps are changed....
i disagree and think that the dimpled side has something to do with spreading the light and should be inside the fitting.
what does everyone else do/think?

Done some research online and have found that it is meant to be dimple side down, to diffuse the light. So turns my colleague was correct although his reasons were wrong, I'm due him a few pints now.... Not afraid to admit I was wrong.
