Doing a new boiler install with a gas engineer who uses us for all the electrics, 9kW combined thingy.
Went to commision it and could not get the heating to work, all the controls wired correct, check, all the controls calling for heat, check - timer is on and room stat maxed out to 30 degrees (digital thing), still no call for heating.
After half an hour of head scratching realised that the ambiant temperature where the stat is fixed was over 30......
Don't like working in this weather.

Ah glad you reminded me. My ex has a couple of flats in Gosport Hampshire and has a problem with heating (same type ElectraStream) in one of the flats she rents. Said I would ask if anyone in that neck of the woods would like to be on call for work on the flats. Possibly EICR is coming up on one. Anyone??? PM me.

I have had a heat alarm going off in a pub kitchen two nights on the trot. Triggers at 58deg C.
Just starting to rain now, quite welcome but feels like we are in for a spectacular downpour. Met office have advised WPD there is a possibility of lightening

Did you not test the stat return it would have been one of the first things to do.
