Discuss Problem RCD warning in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

With counterfeit goods making their way into the industry, four leading industry associations (BEAMA, ECA, SELECT and EDA) have come together to create the Electrical Installation Industry Charter – an agreement that commits members to refuse trade in counterfeit products. Voltimum has just launched a new and informative website, www.counterfeit-kills.co.uk

Pity, I’ve just looked at your previous posts.

Here's some more info on fake electrical fittings!

Counterfeits include surge protectors, power strips, extension cords, batteries, lamps, electronic ballasts, smoke detectors, industrial control relays, conduit fittings, cables, and connectors. They also include wiring accessories such as plugs, socket outlets, plate switches, RCDs, MCBs, MCCBs and fuses.

Talking about fuses, anyone seen 15A rated BS1363 fuses for 13A plug tops and FCU?? There quite common in Cyprus, Gibraltar, HK, etc. Probably counterfeits, but i did get the electrical testing workshop on a previous contract to test a couple that i brought back with me from Cyprus and they tested out just fine.... I think, but not absolutely sure, that BS1363 only covers 3A and 13A, (and maybe 5A) ??
