Thanks Marvo,, I guess thats the reasons why,, from your experience, which brands of ballast do you prefer using?

It depends on the application. For DALI systems we've used Osram/Sylvania in the past although the latest Osram batch gave us a few problems. For commercial germicidal UVC we splash out on BAG ballasts, the UVC tubes are pretty expensive and BAG are worth paying extra for as they give the longest tube life. For standard domestic use Philips more often than not but any recognized brand which happens to be at a reasonable price will usually suffice. Tridonic Atco are also fine.

I'm not sure on the availability of other brands in the UK (assuming that's where you are), I'm sure there will be a wider variety of brands available where you are so I would wait for some more local comments before making up your mind.

Hi Marvo, thanks for the info.. Though Im not in the UK, but all the electrical materials that we are using here are 90% UK Brand, and we are following the BS,.
MK, Tridonic atco and Philips are mostly the brands that I am using..
