I think the two on the right hand side are the Gas and Water :thumbsup

Which looking at that would suggest that the Earth connection from the supplier was never made?

So the two on the right are Gas and water, what's the third one on the left?

From the bottom photograph it appears that 'all' that has (not) happened is that the supplier has not provided an earth from the incoming supply NEUTRAL conductor to the MET, which is what happens with a TN-C-S system? If that is the case, surely, the supplier should be contacted and asked to correct the error?

Agree with this as there is quite clearly a sign that states it's a PME and there is no earth off the header I would be calling the emergency number on the customers bill and telling the DNO exactlky what you have and get them over as soon as possible as the installation is not safe

Looking at it again, if the CPC lead from the ELCB to the MET is connected at the ELCB NEUTRAL connector AND the earth and neutral connections inside the ELCB are linked then, again surely (though you would have to ask why they did it this way), this serves the same purpose as connecting to the NEUTRAL conductor at the end of the supply header block? I would then run that bit of CPC into the top of the MET to make it look 'right'?

Can anyone help please, I cannot locate an earth anywhere on my property as it is made up ground! I need to get my new extension wiring signed off for my mortgage asap and what does one do when you cannot find an earth!!!

Can your electrician not locate it then???

Lenny surely that would be the Electrician that either a) Did the work under part P and did a self cert ? or b) Notified the Local Building control and served a Building notice ?..:D

I'm surprised no ones suggested getting a Zs from a nearby outlet yet if it's not easy to turn the power off. At least you'd know if it's getting an earth from anywhere then before investigating further

Ze is a fundamental requirement for all the reasons set out in the regs Zs ? an Earth from where ? parallel paths ? Extraneous conductive parts ? That is really bad advice mate

Hi steve
Should I contact building control and ask them how to go forward if my electricain cannot locate and earth on my property??
Is it up to my supplier (eon) to sort this out?

The supplier does not have to supply you with an earth but if they do they have to maintain it. Sounds like you need to find a suitable spot for a connection.

Is this a wind up ?

You have a new extension ? New when ?

No (Decent) Electrician would energise a system without establishing supply characteristics, doing a Ze/ PFC and establishing disconnection times and Earthing arrangements did you do this install yourself ?
