Protective bonding ommitions

Hi can anyone tell me what metal parts of a house or out building (garage/annex) either structure, building materials, services(water,oil,gas) or electrical are omitted from protective bonding please.

Main Bonding not required on parts that are not extraneous.

Supplementary Bonding not required on parts that don't require supplementary bonding.


Can't tell by looking at them.

It needs testing and measurement to find out.

Parts are not bonded just because they are x, y, or z.

IR test any suspect part to MET if the resistance is > 22 K ohms, forget it.

ask yourself if it's likely to introduce an external potential (e.g.earth). if in doubt, measure as i said.

Your question can have many answers, it very much depends on the property construction, eg steel framed, concrete frame, etc. Also if oil pipework, is buried from an external tank or burner.
