Unless we can see the lamp and fitting, we cannot give good advice as to how to stop it happening again ? Any light in a poor enviroment will give you trouble. all you can do is minimise it.

Hi - as you've mentioned condensation - this can cause stress if cool water drips onto hot glass front (say). Interested to see a pic :)

Hi, I rewired the lighting in a pub recently. One of the lights in the ladies toilet has exploded the glass cover. The bulb itself is still on but making a strobe effect. They can't turn the circuit off as they have a full pub and a live band playing, but obviously want it fixed for tomorrow. When I wired them in it was a bit of a fire-fighting excercise - ceilings are shot and they really need re-boarding. Loads of **** coming through the cable entry point from the crawl space above and settling in the light dome. Toilet itself gets very full of condensation. A similar bathroom light did the the same thing in another pub in the area (I didn't fit that one). Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Replaced it with double insulated light fitting. Should suffice till they get the ceilings reboarded
