hi chaps, simple question

Wylex MCB as seen here
MCB's - Plug-In - Wylex mcb 3 6 10 16 20 32 40 amp miniature circuit breaker

and also GE Push in MCB seen here
Toolstation > Electrical > Circuit Protection > GE Minitrip

any preference as to what you fit, (noticed Wylex up there MCB to current settings 32,16 etc where as GE kep original trip conditions of 5, 15, 30A etc..

any body used GE ones?? i fitted a few Wylex but never seen GE??? just wondering as they nearly 5quid cheaper than Wylex..!

Wylex push in MCBs are cheaper from Electricfix, £6.53 incl VAT, making them a few pence cheaper than Toolstation's GE versions.

The Wylex MCBs come with their own backplate as they don't fit into the original rewirable backplates. With GE, the backplates are appear to be extras. I don't know if the MCBs will fit without these backplates.

Also, Wylex do a 40 A, whereas GE do a 45 A.

electrix fix...!! just dug there Cat out from my pile of stuff..!! yeah never really looked in there tbh!! i did however type the product code in to screw fix site and got screw fixes price of £9.19

wish electric fix had there own site that trades could log into!!

yer electricfix need there own site

phoned them last week

they said that they are changing things even changed my customer number so may be soon have own site

Just been looking at the new Electricfix catalogue and lots of things have shot up in price. The Wylex push in MCBs are now £8.73 incl VAT, a 34% price rise. Ordinary Wylex breakers have gone up by 44%.
