I have been asked by an registered PV installer for an 2.5Kw system to be tested from the isolator to the main board 350 quid ...? is it a fair price ? what about the string and arrow ? how much will be to be tested ? ?

Nah, I'd want 4 figures min. The risk and potenial liablity would require a large fee - for us to take on, others may price risk differently.

Thanks for the answers guys. I just had another qoute from another company, but they are not registered as PV installers, they are just NIC domestic installers. Is that ok for them to sign off the installation from the isolator to the meter ? i was told that is ok, but i need more opinions. Thanks in advance

Will they also notify the work under Part P of the Building Regulations? They risk being booted out of their competent persons scheme if doing so.

I dont really know if they will notify the Part P....do they have to ? they can treat that like am new circuit to the existing installation ? sorry guys, im just an HV electrician working in a power station and i know nothing about all this process. As far i know they must report the installation somewhere, so i can claim the feed in tarrif. If they do not report i cant claim it, right ?

All PV is notifiable to Part P.

A MCS accredited installer is the only person who can inform the MCS/Gemserv.

Do I take it you have installed the PV yourself?
