Who are you proposing to qualify with?

Napit will send you one out foc, if you are registering with them.

yeah i am going through them but they want £400 for there QMS, i was told i can set up my own QMS so im just looking to see if anyone has a full list of procedures that i will need to run a QMS. thanks for getting in touch.

Should be foc, after you've paid the basic fee to register at the very start of the process...

Have you paid that yet - or is that the £400 you're talking about?

The used to, mind you that was back in 2010 for us..

not paid it yet

That's why you haven't got it then!

A QMS is a very 'personal' thing to a company / business, EasyMCS, one of the forum sponsors offer a hand holding step by step process to get your QMS in place and get you through your MCS, if you have never had one before then it will save you time and money in the long run.

The 'Cheapest' system we've come across is MCS Made Easy | Green Deal Express it's run by GTECTraining so should be more than adequate They were offereing MCS only for £95 and MCS and Green Deal (PAS2030) for £150

Getting your MCS is going to cost you a few grand if you hadn't worked that out yet!

So basically, sign up with Napit and they will send you a QMS that they will then assess you on?

You have got to fill all the blanks in, so by the time you're done you know it and understand it anyway:)

(p.s. - we didn't use it, however not for any technical reason as we'd already got one, an ISO 9001 QMS from other business that we do)

How very frustrating.

What do I or my customers get out of MCS?

A QMS document which creates more work for a small business and is a hindrance to us.
A restriction on how we survey jobs, the result being that we cannot rely on 3D modelling.
A wasted day while an assessor tells us off for not recording non-existent meetings between my brother and I.

Customer benefit - 0%, our benefit - 0%

The fact that an assessing body will actually supply a QMS which they will then assess you on is, frankly, laughable.

The scheme is an utter, utter farce.

sounds gd do i have to go on any coarses for any QMS procedures as i havent ever done a QMS before imjust trying to find out as much as i can before i sign up with napit.

thabks folks

Nope, however you will have to go on courses for your chosen technologies. If you don't know your QMS inside out and how it ties in to the MCS clauses you'll have a mare of a time. That's were the likes of Easy MCS (forum sponsor), Gtec, Ecoskies etc come in. If you've never written even part of a QMS or run one before it will pay you to go on a course to understand the requirements.
