I did my apprenticeship as an electrician in the Royal engineers and got a city and guilds 2369 and 2382 and done my 2391. I can't find any info on the 2369 qualification or what it is equal to?

Can anyone help with this?

many thanks myles.

Fairly sure it will be a 2360 my friend. And probably a typo on the cert if it says 2369.

That being the case, best advice is to phone C&G themselves on T: (+44) 0844 543 0000 and ask them to identify your certs for you.

Mate, I'm ex kate as well. Do not panic. Just send a hand written letter to JIB with photocopies of all of your certs and ya red book - or whatever it may be called in this day and age, and they will square it for you. As much as I despise their bureaucracy they are fairly good with military trained sparks.

i am still in mate and have brought this to the attention of the RECPD and they have contacted City and guilds on my behalf. The problem is that we have done the 2369. the reason the 9 part is there is because it has been issued by the school of engineering ie chatham. The new lads that are coming throgh now get the 2330 which has replaced the 2360 which we did. However because chatham now has kent collage attached to it they are allowed to get 2330. so mate i have loads of e-mails now from people and this problem is still a issue but as this now affects one of the ssgt and my oc and my col is the old SI of electrical wing in chatham i am pushing to get this resolved.will try and let people know.

Thanks for the info, i have got in touch with city and guilds and they have told me if i pay ÂŁ35.00 they will send me out a letter stating what the 2369 is equal to.

Always a chuffin buck to be made out of the innocent! Robbers! They should tell you what your cert is equal to in Civvy St and be grateful you were there to fight for our country when needed, without sending them a f**** invoice for your trouble.

Sorry. Rant off, but that really gets my goat, that.

I haven't heard (read) anyone say that since my grandad, who fought in WW1, died in the 1980s. Nice to know our language isn't dead yet

Just a force of habit using rhyming slang mate. Plus it annoys the Hoorays, and shows the Inner-City 'Gangsta' types that they ain't the only ones who can communicate in a different language. LOL

Don't apologise for that, you are spot on Bill. Just a thought, if the qual you did has a different number on civvy street, shouldn't c&g change it for you free of charge or is that me been silly and asking c&g to do something for nothing. Don't reply, I already know the answer.

Engineer54, any chance you still have a copy of that, the links dead, was on the REdundacies just before Christmas and despite the mod trusting me to supply power to field hospitals, etc the jib in their wisdom have decided I'm only allowed to be a labourer!

Sorry, i have never been in the military!! I just find the whole thing a complete qualification mess, with the institute of C&G at the centre of it. They are now just another money making organisation waiting to pounce at equivalency queries that are basically of their own making. I'd get the MOD involved, after all, it's they that put you through your training....
