I started in 1988 £32 a week but the jib apprentice wage rise used to be in august so after 4 weeks it went up to £35.

Sorry, you lost me on the 'Mod edit' I was dead serious....:confused:

I lived in Poland for a few years as a kid, I remember my Dad telling me how bad the wages were for the Polish workers!

1989 i got £1.09 plus travelling so total of £55 a week getting over £150 after doing 7 days while on the sites was a huge ammount Had to pay the folks 1/4 of that for digs as well

I think it worked out at £0.89 but i think a pint of stella was 96p
