Qualifications

Firstly I must apologise if I am repeating myself,but I seem to be going round in circles!
I am in my forties,employed full time and in the second year of 2330.
I have experience of electrical labouring but am not "practising" at the moment.
I would like to gain enough qualifications to set up on my own on domestic work.
Had so many different answers on what I require to be qualified enough to work legally/professionally
After passing 2330 can I re wire/install on my own?
If so can I sign off my own my own work?
Would a Domestic Installer Course be better for me?
If I need further qualifications to install,test what are they?
Spoke to my tutor today who imformed me that has only passed 2330 and joined the NICEIC,has no other quali's but did all his own install/testing and signing off of his own work.Can I do this aswel?
Sorry for all the questions but an answer to some or all of my point would be much appreciated.

on completion of your 2330 take 2381 exam and then you shoud be able to join nic as a DI

I wouldnt recommend going it alone until you have some more practical knowledge though

Thanks Monty,could you or any other members tell me,when I pass 2330,2381 and hopefully get accepted in NICEIC can I take on all domestic installations including testing,inspection and signing off my own work?
Obviously I will need the required experience before attempting setting up on my own.
A lot more labouring and making tea for me yet!

AFAIK 2330 and 2381 will allow you to become a domestic installer and self certify part p notifyable works

As for taking on domestic installation work (which includes testing of any circuits etc) only competency is required

There are many with no quals that could be and many with quals that are not

bearing all this in mind 2391 would prob be well worth a look
