This is another real world actual job, keeping away from mock questions etc. The story:-

Mrs. Smith has just bought a house and calls me because there is "a bare cable sticking out of the wall in the downstairs shower room" which she is very concerned about. I turn up and take a look at it.

The previous owner has removed the shower and taken it with them before moving out and has left the 10mm Red+Black t&e sticking out of the wall.

Question 1:- What do we do from this point and why?

The new owner Mrs. Smith wants a shower unit putting back in.

Question 2:- How do we go about installing a new shower unit?

I'm back at this house tomorrow to carry out the work and I will take photos to post up with the answers to give a better description.

PM your answers to me titled Qusetion #2 please. Answers posted up a week tomorrow 09/05. Have fun

Deadline for you Paulie:-

Saturday 10PM

Happy? .^_^.

Sorry, I apologize. It has been a really really really busy few weeks with work, new contracts, new sub contract, ongoing works getting finished off and new large project starting this coming week. I've had a lot to sort out plus being made a Mod and learning the new computer system and everything else that I need to know!!! I've had to put on hold my own education for what quals I'm doing this year.

Loads more than that laddies and gentlemen on my plate but you will have a full detailed answer tomorrow, I promise. Finished work (calls, e-mails and paperwork) an hour ago 10:30pm. Just had a beer and a take away, not writing an answer tonight trust me. No point if it has not got my full attention, your all worth more than that.

PS @ TREV. Thanks for taking on that job "up North" for D/S, that really really gets me out of the brown smelly stuff mate. I owe you a few pints my friend. Top Man, thank you.

Hence the saturday 10PM. ;-)

Doh!!! I missed that lol.

10pm will be good for me! Gives me time to quote two jobs in the morning and go to 3 wholesalers to pick up materials for Sundays job (shop, only day it is closed. H&S and all that), get home write up the quotes, spend an hour or two with the wife because she has forgotten what I look like and then type up an answer to my own question.

It's not only posting up an answer, I am from now on replying to each PM with feed back to each T/S member that sent in their answers. Theres a few lol, but everyone will get a PM tomorrow before 10pm.

Poult I'm going to look at yours again and see what you said....back in a bit........

Ok. Look forward to the killer touch!!

Anyway Paul, u as mentor are doing great as are others that are helping us.
You have a life outside of this forum so you dont need to justify to anyone about how long you take to answer. If you didnt do this questioning; how would anyone of us trainees learn by being here if it werent not for you guys asking the questions we should be trying to learn

Poult thank you for that. Appreciated.

As for your answer, look again at the first question after reading the description lol. (as I said in my pm)

"shower unit taken off the wall, bare cable sticking out of the wall." Think about testing, identifying, location of fuse and making safe. You still have time to send in another Pm if you want to have another go, no limits on how many times you have a crack at it mate.

In fact I'll sand you what I've written so far. Dont post it up or PM it to any one else, its not finished yet and has parts missing.

That was funny, made me laugh.... The draft answer that I wrote last weekend to this question, I have just PM-ed to you. Computer refused to send it because it had more than 5000 letters in it pmsl  You have now received the "edited version" lol.

Good bedtime reading Poult?????
