what is difference between multimeter and continuity tester?
Continuity tester measures the continuousness of a conductor or a series of conductors. Historically, used to be a bell set to ring out a particular circuit for polarity and continuity. It doesn't give you a quantitative value as would a measurement from a Low Reading Ohmmeter.
A Multimeter, is a very different animal. It has a selection of different electrical quantities which can be measured, such as Ohms, Amps, Volts, Watts. It can also measure continuity such as measuring the PN junction of a diode or transistor.continuity tester
So a multimeter can offer continuity measurements, usually a noise. A Continuity tester cannot offer the range of a multimeter
I get the feeling that there should have been another ness on the end,it just seems incomplete without its tail end
