ye think i was useing it it new jst messing round with it atm its a good tester ok il try that c what happens thanks for ur help. o yea how would i do over current test? i neva done one b4

PFC = prospective fault current and is the highest of either the PSCC (prospective short circuit current measure betwwen L & N) or Pefc (prospective earth fault current measured L to E at supply with all bonding in place and main earth reconnected).

Set meter to pfc hi setting and use 2 leads as Ze test.

I gotta be honest here but these tests should be second nature, before you even book your assessment.

As well as your testing skills, you will be asked a load of questions which you will be expected to answer reasonably well.

Safe isolation?

RCD trip times?

Use of RCD's?

Why do you test for IR/Zs etc etc.

Can you interpret the test results and what do they tell you?

Bathroom zones?

IP ratings?

Compliance with energy efficiency?

Joist drilling hole sizes? Locations?

Just a few pointers and if you are conversant with most of the above then you should be fine.

If not, either re-schedule your assessment or as above, hit the books hard.

Oh and welcome and good luck :D

I have not done testing for over a year got 2391 and rest of qualification I just want to make sure in my head that every thing is rite, all other ereas are fine eg bathroom zones and rcd time 4ms ect. Safe isolation is fine turn off cu befor taking off cover test for voltage then retest on proving unit carry out visual inspection then carry out dead test then ze then rest of live test.
I think I'm just worrying to much so hope I will b fine, as far as drilling holes go if I'm rite it will 50 mm doen and 3 holes apart joist deps is in on site guide
