I've just found the examples on their website. It's virging on stupidly pointless really, I don't see why I need it but there you go. I'm sure it will tick another box!

I was oy reassessed for domestic 6 weeks ago and now upgrading but as they forgot to bill me the upgrade was £480 inc vat.

Ive ce got all the publications so it's not an issue. yes I know how to safely isolate single and three phase and have all the lock off stuff.

As for the risk assessments section, what do you have it used for this? Just want to ensure I am showing them the right thing.

I have got to ask I can only assume you have been trading and contracting in commercial/industrial for a few years, and only recently decided to go over to domestic?

No, I've always 70% done domestic but upgrading as it looks better than saying domestic. I don't have to do any industrial to upgrade .

the other reason is that it will hopefully attract more commercial work for me.

When I was an approved contractor, I had to be trading for 2 years, and show 2 years books. Can you really go from DI to Approved in 6 weeks now
Malcolm, you don't even need to go through the DI stage. Anyone with the jobs to show, the kit they spec and most importantly a grand for the inspection can go from nothing to AC in the time it takes for a contactor to pull in.

Have to agree with Trev it's far too easy now I remember the first one I was involved in for a firm and everyone was sweating like mad and the owner had been in the club 20yrs.
I really don't see why anyone would get themselves in a state about it now if you have the basic knowledge its easy.

Re the generic H&S policy I found the one on their site and thought I'm not sitting here signing it for every bullet point and wrote my own based on theirs with a few additions which covered my line of work a bit better, it had all their bullet points and one signature at the bottom
The Assessor said it wasn't good enough, I said why not , the content was the same he wouldn't have it and just to shut him up I downloaded the pdf to fill in later, I never did and on subsequent visits showed the original type altered to suit and no bother. ...
The last visit in June it wasn't even mentioned!

No no, I'm not doing it in 6 weeks , I've been with them for two years there abouts , I have my NVQ3, 2394 and 2395, I showed him 3 phase stuff 6 weeks ago on my DI assessment, and I've got to show him only three additional jobs this time as was only reassessed recently.
