O

Octopus

Just been doing an EICR and as there was no seal I decided to check the rating of the DNO fuse.

The photo below is what I could see!!

Can any one, with any confidence, say whether which rating of fuse it is??

Also would you report the "holder" to the DNO due to the "rust" on it?

Thanks

Not being able to identify the rating of the fuse is not a limitation. A limitation is an agreement between the test engineer and the person ordering the work as to what will not be tested and inspected and the reason why.

I.E you cant isolate a circuit because it is needed to power a life support machine etc etc. This would be noted as a limitation on the PIR sheet.

Cheers............Howard

1361 60A is my guess as my house runs on exactly the same piece of tosh on the first cut out which then feeds an 80A BS88 cracking bit of discrimination!

On and industrial install i did the DNO fitted the same rated fuses as my 200Amp BS88 (type 2) but was told discrimination wasnt lost as he had fitted type 4's..... not sure if this happens in domestic though or whether it actually does achieve discrimination in a fault.

they know mine is wrong as they are changing it on the 7th of next month! why would you put one cut out feeding another!

Industrial 3phase main 200A isolator feeding busbar fed from their ISU, you have to have independant fusing when supplying 3phase and cant rely on DNO fuses unlike domestic where DNO fuse protect accumulative load of all circuits from overload of your dist board.

I'm talking domestic here hence "my house"
