Discuss r.c.d. tripping times ?? in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

the operating current of the rcd is irrelevant for the 1xtest, it should still trip in <200/300mS whatever the rating. all you need to alter is the test current on your test equipment. i.e. 10/30/100/300/500/1000mA.

Rcd test for a 30ma trip
Is 1/2 15ma current should not trip
1x 30ma current should trip before 200milli secs
5x 150ma current should before 40milli secs
That is for 16th edition
So for 100ma rcd you still use 1/2 x 1x 5x
