OK then I'm going to join the nut brigade .........................

Ok accept all the conspiracies theories were de-bunked about the shadows, the flag waving in the "wind" and this and that about pictures, (Tony could explain better)......................................

but ...............................I'm still skeptical about the techno side of things. With the computing power of a casio calculator they managed to get all these missions up and back again and apart from Apollo 13 ................with no hassles

We have all seen the Youtube footage of them trying to fly the landing craft and what a mess they made of it ...........and again without any computer guidance every landing was near perfect ................

The biggy for me is the radiation .........................in a suit basically made out of tin foil they sent these guys into an environment that had full solar radiation burning down on it and no atmosphere to protect them except for a kebab wrapper ..........ahem

Saying all this the biggest for them doing it, rather than in a film lot somewhere in Burbank is that not one person, be it astronaut technician cameraman or tea lady as come forward to tell all ..............

So I guess I sort of have to believe it ...but find it hard

im not convinced either,all these moon landings were in about 3 years of each other 60/70's when technology was basic to these days.then nowt,if it was easy then should be a peice of p now,but no ones been back up since as far as i know,they should be doing day trips

I've always wondered how the chaps on the moons surface dealt with getting out of the lunar module in their suits.

The craft was small and didn't have an "air lock" so ok they put their suits on, then what?? And when they got back in how did they seal the craft, refill it with air and then take their suits off. Also, given the mook dust was claimed to be smelly and get everywhere, why didn't it foul up their switchgear and seals??

Whatever Neil Armstrong gave us adventure when i was young anyway. He will go down in history as a great .....Great at what ? not sure if that would be landing the lunar module or lying for the good old USA about landing the lunar module.

Anyway you look at it, you've got to have some balls to sit on 280 tonnes of slapped together metal and rocket fuel and fly it into the vast nothingness of space just to win a dick waving contest against the Russians

trouble is the USof A does have more than its fair share of nutcases
I was once giving a talk about wartime missions to a group of schooldchildren ( i used to give talks on Britain at war) I spoke aboit Otto Skorzeny the germany commando who widely copied david stirling and they copied him
an American teaching visitor told me that her aunt was married to him ?
I asked was she german no American well Otto died in Spain many years ago but according to our visitor he was alive and well
she sent me some picture of him in America oh yes it was the dead man what a likeness 12 inches shorter missing a duelling scar and 20 years younger !!!!!
I know that soem of you younger people cannot beleive that we got to the moon with such low tech equipment but hey ho America already had auto pilots that would land aircraft in fog by remote control from the ground back in the 40s
they had already developed the Klystron before us and of course nicked all the german rocket scientists at the end of the war and all the research
its surprising how much we as human beings managed before technology why myself I managed without a mobile phone or radio pager or sat nav but was always in touch with my office
the met police could also locate locate any policeman within a few minutes back in the 30s ?
and my dad found my mum in the blackout or I would not be here !!!

Here's the story:

On July 20,1969, as commander of the Apollo 11 lunar module, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. His first words after stepping on the moon, "that's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind," were televised to earth and heard by millions, but just before he re-entered the lander, he made the enigmatic remark "good luck, Mr. Gorsky." Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.

Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "good luck, Mr. Gorsky" statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled.

On July 5, 1995, in Tampa bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26-year-old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded. Mr. Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question.

In 1938 when he was a kid in a small Midwest town, he was playing baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit the ball, which landed in his neighbour's yard by the bedroom windows. His neighbours were Mr. and Mrs. Gorsky. as he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky.

"Oral sex! You want oral sex?! ? You’ll get oral sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!"

Oh and Neil Armstrong a true hero as were all apollo astronauts , I remember watching black and white tv everyday to see what had happened to Apollo 13 , it still amazes and astounds me they got them home.
