R2 test

Is performing an r2 test acceptable for all radial circuits on a eicr? Using a wandering lead?. Seem to see a lot of other contractors doing this. But for initial verification r2 is not accepted

there's no such thing as r2 on a radial. did you mean R2?

it's OK to measure R2 on an EICR, but i prefer R1+R2 as that also confirms polarity and will pick up any poor connections on the L.

I have to say that I always check R1+R2, in every situation. It takes longer, but gives me peace of mind.

Yes an R2 test is acceptable but as said R1R2 test is better but. Both are ok your choice

R2 can be handed to use if testing a metal ornate light fitting to check for earth continuity without taking it down But I would still still do An R1 R2 and the light switch to check condition of Live connections as stated.

Get a set of Kewtech litemates, just the job for occasions when it is not practical or possible to take fittings down.
