yep. several suppliers will sell 4mm by the yard ( sorry, meter) so you can just buy what you need for the job.
 
Technically no prob using 2.5 to a single twin socket (and the regs show a picture of it in Appx 15, but you have the problem of what cable size to put in your test results 4.0/2.5 hmmm! pete
