I have a small Workshop, (all single phase 240v), off a Consumer Unit through a BG CUR6330 RCD and a BG CUMB32 MCB. On a random basis the RCD trips, which is annoying as the domestic Shower is also off the same RCD through a different MCB, so sometimes I wake up the the Shower not working. I've tried observing which of the workshop tools are plugged in to find out the source of the trip but too no avail as the time between trips can be considerable and I need to use the tools.
I thought I'd try an Isolation Transformer, like the Carroll and Meynell CM3000/230, and moved it around each of the tools until the RCD trip stopped.
Would this work please?
It would probably take weeks, or longer to find the culprit tool, but at least I'd find it.

It would be quicker to get an electrician to have a look.
The test equipment they have could pick up the fault.

It may be a fault with the wiring, and not one of the tools.
Do any of the circuits served by the rcd go outside where there could be water ingress?
Rodent damage?

If I unplug all of the tools when I'm not using them, it doesn't happen.
