Anyone every use this?? What do you think??
Also do you know of any other sites like this one??

have to admit to having tried it, and like many other posts have said,it's a bit rubbish.
That being said, I've made a few quid of it, and got good ratings, so it's rough with smooth.
One of the ratings left by a customer went like this.

'fairly pleasant and tidy, but expensive for an hours work'
Jeesh, fitted a pain in the backside light fitting, and installed a new NTE 5A.

Quoted 100, done it for 80.

BT cost for NTE 5A ti be done, 140 + VAT.

Some people.......

Stay well clear all a con you have to pay for the leads which range from £4.00 to £22.00 most of the time the numbers are wrong or they are fake jobs you have myhammer also a scam you have to pay

Got a call as well.

Gonna give it a go for the initial 3 months, only a tenner after all. i'll probably go for the inexpensive leads and see how it works out. Not holding my breath tho!!!!!

i bought a lead from them i was the first to buy it and when i rang...

"were getting the work done by someone out the local paper now"

"can i come and quote?"

"no"

£20 down....

regarding rated people, I have paid out a total of £32 to get 3 leads and made a gross profit on the 3 jobs of £700. I am careful which leads I pick (ie look for the more affluent postcodes in the area)

Re: MyHammer

MYHAMMER are an absolute joke of an organization. Their customer service is appalling (German based). God help you if you have a problem or issue that needs sorting. All they appear interested in is getting as much money from the tradesman as possible for little or no return. The worst experience I have ever had. If you want my advice STAY WELL CLEAR!!!!.

Also a potential breeding ground for cowboys due to the fact that almost anyone can quote for jobs, hence the ridiculous prices that often appear.

Only tried my hammer, waste of time.

All these sites are designed so that the first person to make the money is the operators themselves, then if you're lucky, you might make a bit.
Don't like the way it works of the customer telling you have much a job will cost to do. Seems a little backwards to me

i use rated people. as previous posts some of the leads are k-rap, e.g. 40 miles each way for a £40 call-out, but if you are selective about the leads you buy, it's a decent way to get work. one prob. i have found is if a client does not post an estimated budget, rated people default the lead price to £14 - £20. always look at the job description and customer's estimate. 0ne i saw was an asian gentleman who wanted a full PIR and Fire Alarm Inspection/test/cert. for under £100. 30 miles away. needless to say, i did not buy that lead.

Re: Rated Hammer

Ive just joined Rated hammer, interesting name as its a mixture of rated people and my hammer which have both been mentioned in this thread. Rated hammer is a new site (still says beta on it) so i dont know how quickly its going to sort itself out but the site looks very different and quite funky. They seem to trying to address the problem of companies putting in low bids just to get work and then bumping the price up - a problem ive had before. They also only charge a monthly fee after a 1 month free trial then £24.95 per month (ouch)which i thought was high but then realised they dont charge any commission or lead fees so all i pay is the £24.95. I guess if you get 1 job every month or 1 job every two months from it it should pay its way. Oh and the best bit is the rating system and that to boost your rating you can submit jobs youve completed outside their site which i thought was pretty cool. Will keep you guys updated on how it goes. Looks very promising though...fingers crossed.
