Rates for Basingstoke area

Good evening all.
Have a potential domestic job for a few days for a friend of a friend in Basingstoke and would like to find out how much the people charge in the area, if there's anyone from around there. I'm based in West Midlands so I think the rates for that area should be different, plus driving time there and back or hotel if staying overnight. Appreciate any help.

Im pretty sure like everywhere the rates will vary massively... Just use your rate plus the mileage plus travel time plus any additional expenses like hotel, evening meal etc..

Not sure what you really want you want the local rates but then you have additional costs like driving and hotel etc. generally its always cheaper to source a local electrician, I get acquaintances asking me to do jobs like 80+ miles away and I just say no cause by the time they have paid me for travel time and other out of pocket expenses they will be better off paying someone local..

If someone specifically wants you and you want to go then fine, work out the extra costs, charge your rate plus those extra costs. There is no such thing as a local rate, different electricians charge different rates and the quality of work can also be massively different.

Recently I did two jobs pretty much identical, change a kitchen light fitting, charged both £60, one customer says "Are you sure thats enough", second customer says "I need to wait till I get my pension cause that was more than I thought it was going to cost". EICR pricing is the same, I get calls and emails to quote for EICR's, mine are decent EICR's and I end up earning less than I do on my hourly rate yet often just get, no sort X company said they can do it for £60 so you are way too expensive..

That's what I did, charged my rates plus added all the extra costs on top, I.e. mileage, travel time, hotel...
