Hi, I found 5 ring final circuits used for sockets, protected by MCB's instead of RCBO'S on a 3p board with no rcd, there are also 20 further circuits used to power hand dryers, under sink water heaters & panel heaters with no rcd protection. The site was only refited <12 mths ago?. Have put qoute in to fit rcbo's to the 5 circuits used for sockets, unsure if the other 20 circuits powering the above need rcbo protection, any ideas/recomendations?

Knowing the type of installation and the competency of the users of the installation would be good to know for a question such as this mate.

if you can get all the circuits RCD protected that would be Brilliant but if not i would AIM for outlets that people use... Sockets/Dryers... etc..

and yes widdler is right as it may be the offices of the NIC and full of wannabe sparks and lawyers!!

The 5 x circuits used to power plastic wall sockets in pvc conduit in a open office area of the warehouse in a distribution center, the water heaters, hand dryers & some panel heaters are in the toilets, & the rest of the panel heaters are in the 1st flr office area.
The merlin geran 3p board has mailny type c mcb's, there are 2 x new rcbo's used for the 1st flr offices. As for compentency all the staff are mainly office workers & a couple of warehouse guys, who did not know the warehouse lights (on 24/7) had light sw's, have little elec knoledge.
Hope this helps WODDERS
