To provide the additional 30mA protection to a circuit that requires it if an RCD is not already present.
 
To comply with regs on various fronts, dearer than a split loaded twin RCD board but easier to identify a faulty circuit as generally it's one RCBO per circuit, rcbo's are single pole devices though, an RCD would be double pole and more suited to TT

How does the RCBO detect a fault if it is single pole?
 
the 2-mod rcd's are double-pole aren't they?

i checked a MG B40 today-it definitely is
