Apologies if this has been raised before - nothing has come up on a search of the site. Have any of come across the situation where the flexible neutral tail on an RCBO is not long enough to reach the neutral busbar? If so, what do you do - can you extend the neutral tail without causing performance or warranty problems?

Thanks.

As the neutral tail is normal fine stranded I do try not to have to extend them if possible. I would try and alter the Panel around so that I could fit the RCBO in a way that would enable it to reach.

If that is impossible then there really isn't much option but to extend them really.

As for performance I doubt very much it would cause a problem and for the warranty, well I guess it could cause you to void it, but bottom line unless you can make it fit in a way, there isn't a lot of options left.

Thanks Malcolm. Can't alter the panel. I can fit the RCBO on either side of this board, but will have to extend either the earth or the neutral tail on the RCBO - thinking about it, probably better the earth than the neutral.

Always interested to learn what others do in situations which are not straightforward!

Regards
