OK here goes i will try explain a fault im having with my consumer unit. Ive just bought a house and moved in but the rcd keeps tripping when there is too much load on,
basicly if i have the following switched on. tv/sky/2kw heater/tumble dryer/fridge freezer/chest freeser/water heater/cooker and some lights
if all of these are on at once the 80amp rcd will trip.
if i then turn off the water heater and the cooker things are ok.
if i then put on the kettle the rcd trips again. if i leave kettle off and turn dryer on it trips too.
The individual trip switches arnt tripping just the main 80amp rcd thats going.
It seems to me that if there is too much load going through the consumer unit and its tripping.
doesnt look like one thing thats putting it off. Ive tried different combinations with same results.
that shouldnt be too much load on the consumer unit to trip it?
right now i have tv/2kw heater on/fridge freezer and chest freezer on. if i turn on the water heater it trips. if i dont turn on water heater and turn tumble dryer on it trips too.
help lol?
