hello
im an industrial maintence electrician (mainly emergencies in factory processes & HV work) I do very few domestic jobs - i did pass my 18th edition in 2019 but memory is very vague
doing a bit of work in my home and removing an electric shower and fitting thermostatic & also fitting a whirlpool bath
regarding the bath, my thoughts were either
1. take a spur from the ring (rcd protected) in converted attic directly above and fitting a RCD fsu in the ceiling where the shower switch was - ceiling height is 2.4m and switch is not above the bath
2. Fitting the rcd fsu in the wall next to the sockets in the attic
From the RCD it’s going to run down some conduit in the wall to under the bath into an adequate IP rated box
The bath instructions say “it must be fitted outside the bathroom” but i figured if it’s accessible and not in a zoned area it should be fine? I’d prefer it wasn’t in the attic tbh
CU is already full and I don’t fancy running a new t&e to the existing “shower” breaker if i can help it
appreciate any thoughts
