Just been called out to install cooker circuit. 6mm and 45A Isolator Switch, obviously dedicated circuit. Existing Wylex D/B with 1 Ring for whole house on RCBO, 2 Lighting not RCD. 1 Spare way with 16A MCB, assume was for Immersion Heater, no longer used. Changed 16A MCB for 32A and connected cooker cable to this. My query is ___ should I put RCBO instead as the new circuit is all surface, no buried cables, only a 3m run in cupboard under stairs, thtough studded wall into kitchen surface clipped under kitchen unit to Isolator, then to Connection Unit behind cooker. The problem with fitting RCBO is that it won't fit as the neutral bar is just above the MCBs and would stop the RCBO fitting on the DIN Rail. I have adviseed the client that the D/B should be upgraded.
