Been to a job today in sunny yorkshire, Using metrel 61557 tester and as soon as i hit start it strips the rcd on ramp test. Again on the rcd test on 1/2 rated current its trips the RCD as soon as i hit start.

Its on a TT System with 100ma Rcd and 30ma, Its the 30ma that trips as soon as I bang start. Testers fine as I have used it with susscess on the next job.

Anybody had same issue?

As per above from Dave. Swap to a 63A outlet and problem goes away. What gets plugged into it is not part of an inspection.
