Hi , I am going to spur off a ring socket circuit, connecting a rcd protected fused connection unit BS4293 to a double socket on the ring, then spur off to a double socket.
As I’m just taking a spur off a ring can I do this a minor works ?
The rcd unit is because the ring is not RCD protected, so as to conform to 17 th
Any ideas you may have would be appreciated

Wouldnt putting the whole ring main on an RCBO, the just spurring to the double socket work for you?.
Are you nic or anything??
If not stick to the original as minor works doesnt cover the breaker side..

this job is one of my 2 jobs for niceic, i have done cu change and payed building control ÂŁ164, and want this job to be minor works so not to involve building control

is the socket outlet you plan to spur off down stairs?

if it is i would advise putting the whole circuit on a rcbo if possible, might impress mr nic making all the downstairs sockets rcd protected rather than just your spur
