Hi
I was just watching the installation of 8 PV panels on my neighbor roof, in each panel was written 250W
so in total this will make 2 Kw.
As the panels will generate only low voltage C.C. power, this in turn has to be stepped up and convert to 230V C.A. for this purpose an inverter has to be used.My question, how much of the generated power will this equipment use? In reality the 2 kw generated are only theoretical.
Can somebody explain it to me? please?

The system will be 2 KWP the P stands for peak, it is the maximum a system can produce without any loses, However you will have some loses, cables, Inverter, orientation and inclination of roof.
The panels produce in DC current that is then converted in to AC in an Inverter.
If the system is designed well, and the Inverter is matched well, on a bright sunny day, you could expect to produce around 1.6KW.
It is not a huge power station, but with the FIT and reduction of your electricity bills, the customer should see a tax free financial return of around 10% index linked.
That's better than you are getting on your savings in the bank, and they will be reducing their carbon footprint a little, which can not be a bad thing.
Hope this helps
