Recommend me a Lazer level.......

Really just for down lights, getting sockets level, conduit drops. Compact but not too £ouch! Too many to choose from and need to get one by next week. Many thanks

I've got the dewalt cross line laser, very happy with it.
B&Q have a few on display in the bigger stores, if you want to browse.
Think stanley make a cheaper one.

I've been thinking, only thinking of getting something like this;

Laser Levels Online - The Laser Level Specialists - Stanley FatMax SCL-D

or this;

Laser Levels Online - The Laser Level Specialists - Stabila LAX300 Cross Line & Plumb points laser

Primarily for laying out downlights, but also leveling fittings in kitchen refurbs. Got a Bosch cross line laser at the moment, but its not too good for marking out on ceilings. These two have the plumb bob top & bottom, which makes marking out downlights a lot easier.

Depends what your marking out with your laser?

Plumb bob for ceiling marking, cross line for 1st fix when leveling fittings across a room, green laser for outside & laser lock so it doesn't get bashed about in the back of the van. You'll need a stand or tripod to mount in on as well.

Don't forget about a decent pole/tripod too!

If you just buy a pole then you could easily mark each and every ceiling you come across. Buy one which is a tripod and/or a pole and hey presto it will be much more flexible.

Just saying.

Seems the industry standard is now the DeWalt.
Think the magnetic clamp could use a re-think.

I just used my recently purchased Stanley SCL-D laser level, to mark up some down lights. Has a plumb line up & down, and with laser cross line locked into position, you can place laser on its back to project right angle lines on the ceiling. So far recommended, only time will tell on its robustness. Comes with 2 year warranty.

Had 2 dewalt lasers before dropped 1 when i was doing tray the other just packed up. Bought 1 of these Bosch GLL2-50 Crossline Laser + BM1 Wallmount in L-Boxx

Happy with it.
