What would you put on hmo as testing regime

id say every 5 years as rented accommodation

depends on the state of the installation. You could have shorter intervals if the installation or part of it is in a poor state

New install but as the inspectorate il say 5 years

I would refer to GN 3, it has a table in there, don't have it near by at mo, but I think it is recommended at 5 years and visual yearly.
