Well a great day at work today, we have all been put onnotice of redundancy, we will know the end of September if we have a job ornot.
I am wondering whether to go contracting whilst trying tofind a new full time job. I have spokento a couple of agencies and they said they have lots of work at the moment forelectricians and even more work installing door access system and CCTV.

Does anyone else do much contracting work and is thereplenty of work around at the moment?

Thanks

It happened to me a few years ago so I sympathise with you. There will always be work out there for the lads who are willi to graft too, so don't worry too much. Some companies can try and use this tactic to get rid of a bit of the chaff from the wheat I guess, you will know in yourself which side of the fence you fall on too mate. Or just take a running jump and leave!
