Hi can someone please let me know how the electric is pushed back to the grid,or is it stored in the export meter for meter reader to calculate reimbursment thats due,Thanks

Quality panels, components and an inverter guarantee a reliable system.

The panels convert sunlight into DC electricity.

This is then passed through an Inverter so it is AC electricity.

The AC electricity then travels through a meter to record the amount of Kilowatts it has produced.

Then it travels into the existing AC Installation, where it can be used if needed or exported back to the national grid.

the inverter steps up the voltage to push back into the house if needed if not flows out into the grid

Wot 'e said.

I have a solar PV array and so does my neighbour (both around 3.7kWp). Both face the same direction.
When the sun appears from behind a cloud, if I'm not using the power produced, my inverter and the one nearby start a bidding war to push their power into the grid, with the local grid voltage quickly ramping up from 235 Volts to 245 Volts in a matter of seconds caused by the two inverters dumping their excess power into the local grid.

Hi due to start on a job which has pv installed,I need to have to break into the tails at the white box to feed another consumer unit in a out building as there is no way i can get to the consumer unit in the house, the problem being by doing this the outbuilding electric will not be generated from the pv electric am i correct in saying. Thanks

Jason yeah i am going to be using a couple of henley blocks, the problem being i am not too sure wether this would use any pv supply current as its before the export meter,or does it not make any difference

Blimey, it' like 2010 in here.

Anyhoo, as any MCS installer worth his salt knows, the electric flows out under gravity. That's why the panels are mounted on the roof - highest point see.

Im not at all into PV but I think there's a bit of truth to that, the inverters set the voltage higher than the grid so it flows out.

was your comment referring to that, if so quite clever!

I believe that the OP may be referring to the Generation meter not an Export meter, if you need some help post some pics and I am sure the help will come your way.

JulianC, your theory can not work if the supply is overhead as the pole may be higher than the panels, or it may be a bungalow, must be magic.....

That's why we introduce a high volt drop between inverter and meter point. Ideally the inverter should be as high as possible (that's why they are best put in the loft). The higher the volts can drop, the more chance they have of bouncing back up the pole. :rockon2:
