Regs with regard to Correct Connection of Equipment

B

Belter

Hi, I'm doing my 2391 soon and in the Fault Find section you have to write which section of the regs it doesn't comply with.

I have a list of potential faults, one of which is incorrect connection of a socket e.g. L in N and N in L terminal. I can't find it in Selection and Erection.

Anyone have the knowledge that I lack?

Cheers

I am have been told so many times by sparks and my lecturer that a Bonding conductor must be continuous. As far as you're concerned this isn't the case?

Then ask your tutors where in the regulations it says that a bonding conductor as to be continous. It is always deemed good practice not to cut a bonding conductor as it increases the chances of losing it's continuity at that connection.

But as we have in the Regulations section 526 for connections then as long as you adhere to these regulations then you can have a non continous bonding conductor

An example of what I'm asking is. Regulation 612.4.5 explains that Barriers and Enclosures should meet IP requirements of IP4X/IPXXD or IP2X/IPXXB where appropriate (with regard to testing) but if I were to say which part of the regs this contravenes I'd say Section 522 Selection & Erection of Wiring Systems because it hasn't been Selected for the correct purpose/erected properly e.g. Grommets used with T+E cable and only one cable going in the top of the DB creating a gap greater than a 1mm.
