So one of the cretins that work for me has a vivaro, bit like mine, just not the sportive, and a year older, I took his van on Friday to go get lunch as it was blocking mine in.

The scrubbing noise from the back brakes was un-believable!!, assuming it needed pads, it was safe to say the discs would be scrap too by the noise.......

"Oh yeah" he says, been like that since before Xmas!. My reply was ... You having a laugh, or words to that effect. I told him to get the bits and as we were both on nights In London last night, I'd do it for him today as a favour when I got up!, considering he contacts to me and does about 30k a year I felt a bit responsible for his safety!.

And boy did I wish I never offered, how any one can drive a vehicle in this state is beyond me!

Mine goes into vauxhall at the weekend to have brakes done (they're not as bad as those)
How much would you charge to do it!!!!

it would shock me if I didn't see this sort of thing on a daily basis. at least he got his money's worth outa the last set!

I'll warn you the back disks are expensive!, the come with the wheel baring and the ABS ring, to do them isn't a massive job, if I took it into my best mates garage and did it on a ramp it would have been half hour a side tops, but he had got all the surrounding components so hot all the bolts were siezed!.

It's not really a job you could do at home as the hubs, according to Auto data have to be torqued to 280NM and there's not many people with a torque wrench at home that will do much more than 200

This reminds me when I worked as a prescription delivery driver for the planets largest chain of pharmacies. I was allocated a van that had weird squealing noises coming from the brakes, and discovered they actually didn't work! Miles away from everywhere, my then boss phoned me to demand I hurry up doing my deliveries as the garage was waiting for my van to fit new brakes as they were faulty!!!!!

So he knowingly sent me out with faulty brakes!!! I could have killed myself or an innocent motorist/pedestrian. :66: :dead:

I diddnt think delivery drivers used brakes !

Maybe not conviction.
I like to think that someone who works in a Trade/Technical occupation would have 'some' awareness of other areas outside of their speciality, evidently not!
