Hi all, a very long time I did a swanky grand designs type new build in the middle of nowhere, so in the middle of nowhere that it's a house with a sprinkler system and a variety of other life/building systems to cope with the fire brigade basically never finding it (was a condition of planning consent). Anyway, I made the suggestion at the time of installing a non-maintained LED downlight over the primary stairwell as a safety feature and it's now come to the end of it's life. Except, in talking to the owners, they really liked the little green charging led in the lamp house (the battery pack was a separate harness) as it used to act as a nightlight for the landing as a by-product. I'd thought it was an old version of an LED7 but turned out to be a Saxby when I popped it down. I'm not interested in trying to repair the mouse damage to the harness, to then just replace the NiCads, to then have the LED's fail in six months...
So, before I start trawling the wholesalers for a replacement, does anyone have a recommendation for a modern product that will do the same? Standard 70mm-ish 230V LED fire-rate downlight, WW, that has a charging LED?? I may be chasing a Unicorn now, don't know, am very out of touch with domestic gear these days.
