Discuss replacement of 2391 in the Electrician Courses : Electrical Quals area at ElectriciansForums.net

So if you work on a site where there have been twenty different blokes do the install and you have been chosen to test it you then take a step back and say, "I can't test that because it wasn't installed with my own hands?"

No. Rest of OSG G2.3 p152 says "It is common with larger organisations for the design to be carried out by one company, installation or construction by someone else and the inspection and testing to be undertaken by some other...this is quite acceptable but the company who carries out the installation must issue the Electrical Installation Certificate". The point is if you tested but didn't install it you can correctly sign off the T&I on the multiple signature certificate but can never sign off the installation as a whole.

I mean, don't get me wrong, you could say it. It depends how much you like being tied naked to a roof joist with insulation tape, covered in blue marking chalk and left overnight.

EAL now have the 4337 and 4338 Inspection & Testing Qualifications (JIB Approved). All online exams and open book guidance note 3.

do you have an official source for the jib's acceptance of eal quals ?
would be of big help to many on here to know the options if youre correct.

but there is no way on gods green earth , that any open book exam qualification is on par with the 2391's 3 hour memory only brutal written exam lol.
not in a million years ;-)

Thanks for clarifying the EAL qualifications in Inspection and Testing, I have only now logged on! Cheers Guys. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding EAL qualifications?

Having just done the 2394 and seen a fair few 2391 past papers, I'd say the two look equivalently tough. The first half of the 2391 equates to the 2394 online test and the second half to the 2394 written. Both closed book.
