I am doing some rewiring within the large junction box used for my central heating and hot water controls, which requires me to make use of two additional cable entry points. Unfortunately, many years ago the original installer threw away the flexible brown strips that were used as strain relief (ref attached photo).

Can anyone suggest what might be a suitable material for replacing these missing strain relief strips?

The usual thing I use is the strain relief clamp from a 13A plugtop or fused connection unit, or even one from a new heating junction box, if I can find one the right size. FCUs are often fitted with out a flexible cable coming from them, and the heating junction boxes have more than required, so they're effectively free.
The brown fibre ones in your pic have largely been superseded by plastic versions.

Who knew - you can buy them! 🤪
Don't know if it's the right width though !

Only problem - the postage is 22 times more than the 18p clamp 😂

As I had nothing suitable to hand this afternoon, I rearranged my cables and found a way to handle them all with the existing strain relief.

However, thanks for those comments and suggestions. The cheap cord grip with the expensive postage would unfortunately have been too narrow.
